However, some Christian schools provide additional teaching positions (i.e. secondary languages, the Arts, religion, etc.) that public schools may not. They are responsible for making lesson plans, integrating Christian principles, grading papers, administering assignments, leading in prayers and more.

He or she is responsible for keeping book and media inventory, supervising students and daily functions of the library, recommending any budget expenditures and materials for the library, and establishing certain student activities. The librarian is expected to encourage students and co-workers alike to get involved in reading and utilizing the school library. This person may be required to direct other maintenance crew members and keep an inventory of the supply room. Some daily duties may include: emptying trash cans, vacuuming floors, cleaning the bathrooms, sweeping the sidewalks and picking up trash around the school. Weekly, monthly and quarterly requirements—such as washing windows, cleaning lockers and sweeping ceilings— are included, as well. Like any other Christian school position, the school custodian is expected to uphold Christian values and be a good example to students while at work.

Guidance counselors (or advisers) are primary go-to people for students who need advice on almost anything, school-related or not. In a Christian school, they should withhold Christ-like values and lead students with a biblically-driven outlook. They work with other teachers to evaluate students’ strengths and weaknesses. In high schools, they’re also required to advise students on their course choices and college applications.

Secretary

Christian school secretaries take care of much of the clerical work needed to keep the school running. They are the first faces the public will see when entering the school and the first voices the public will hear when calling the school, so Christian school secretaries must have a friendly, Christian attitude. They’re duties might include bookkeeping, making copies, sorting mail, scheduling activities, recording absences, filing student forms, etc.
